We refreshed the visual identity of ecoinvent, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and providing access to environmental data. The redesign highlights ecoinvent’s role as a global leader in sustainability, making its mission and values clear through a contemporary and approachable visual language. Data with Purpose encapsulates the organisation’s commitment to turning complex datasets into meaningful insights for global environmental impact.
Branding principles
At the core of the identity is the concept accessing the world through data. This is reflected in visual elements that fragment, unfold, and structure information, symbolizing how ecoinvent extracts environmental insights from products and processes.
The colour palette reinforces the brand’s purpose: green for digital and ecological aspects, blue for technology and trust, and yellow to add warmth. Paired with the minimalist yet distinctive PP Mori typeface, these elements create a modern, coherent identity that conveys credibility, clarity and innovation.

The digital presence brings the brand to life through a clear, structured and interactive experience. Users navigate seamlessly between datasets, projects and organisational insights, with visuals and layout that reflect ecoinvent’s data-driven mission. Subtle animations, structured grids and thoughtful colour use ensure a professional and engaging interface that supports comprehension, trust, and the meaningful impact behind every dataset.
